It is also about being aligned with your True Self, Spirit, or Soul, if you will, and letting that LEAD you, not your Ego. They just bounce right off.Īuthentic Power is fearlessness. The arrows that others sling have little effect on such a thick trunk. I stand in my Truth, unafraid of being the real me. The vulnerable and young sapling that I was has grown into a large oak tree that is strong and proud of whom she has become. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Throughout my life I’ve been attacked, or gotten into power struggles with others too many times to count, but these tough lessons have taught me much about Power. I had major lessons to learn about self-worth and self-esteem, and for the most part have succeeded in understanding what it means to truly love oneself. My father taught me much about Power and became my biggest teacher, especially concerning the abuse part of it. I mean honest to goodness Personal Power.
So what is Power really? And how do you have the right relationship with it? I’m not talking about the Patriarchal-Dominion-Over-Others and Ego glorifying type of deal either. If you did, then you would be unhappy, and that’s not a win-win scenario. Sounds like fun, right? There are many benefits to having this power totem but you need to stand in your Truth because you will never be able to please everyone. You could also be seen as a Queen or King and never be allowed to make mistakes or show a weakness of any kind. Being a leader sometimes means that there will be followers, which may involve more tests in leadership. Mountain Lion could also be telling you to believe in yourself, dream or purpose and let your heart lead the way. The best way to handle these tests is to create a balance of power by using clear intention coupled with right action.
Mountain Lion will give you tests in the use and abuse of power if you are in a position of leadership or have influence over others. This cat can put you in the unenviable place of being a target for the issues of others, and you could become the perfect reason for their troubles and lack of self-confidence. I also believe that Mountain Lion is a symbol for the right use of power. He sits on my right side and reminds me about the true nature of leadership.
Mountain Lion is a symbol for leadership and is not an easy totem animal to have. Well, sometimes he’s nice, but at other times this kitty can roar.
